Keys and Feet

Tap dancer Samara Seligsohn and pianist Solomon Hoffman knew nothing of each other before being paired to create a work.

"I normally am a little nervous about choreographing" says Seglisohn, "But with this dance, it is my song. We can do whatever we want."

"Samara and I found a common language to speak" adds Hoffman.

"Yeah, and it's cool to make something from nothing; the dance is what it is and will be."

Playin'

For most of our pairs, this project is the first time we have met one another.

I had not met my partner, Shaun Mitchell, a trumpet player,  until a month ago. It is our first time working together and Shaun's first time collaborating with a dancer.

"I'm just having fun. Let's play."-a fairly normal rehearsal quote from Shaun.

Can't wait for you to see us playing around on the stage.
